Medium: red cedar Biography: Luke J. Parnell was born of a Nisga'a mother (Kincolith) and Haida father (Masset). His Nisga'a name is Gwaith Chalks, which means "Wood Sculpture." After graduating from the Ontario College of Art and Design in sculpture and installation, Parnell completed a three-year apprenticeship with Henry Green.
