Medium: alder Description: On a beautiful afternoon on Hornby Island, while Martine Reid, Hildegard and Toni Cavelti enjoyed a walk around Helliwell Park, Bill picked up a piece of alder on the beach and carved this lovely spoon with his pocket knife. Biography: BILL REID (1920-1998) The work of Bill Reid, Haida, a goldsmith turned sculptor, carver and writer, ranges from the most intricate to the monumental -- in wood carving, exquisite silver and gold jewellery, beautiful prints and massive sculptures.
