Description: Young Killer is a grave marker for the many adolescent Killer Whales that have perished in recent years. Their deaths may be the beginning of the end for the species. If our toxic pollution is not stopped, their blood will be on our hands. This panel is a call to arms for those who care, and a tribute to the environmental soldiers who have helped Luna and Springer - two "Young Killers" that have left us thinking.
Biography: Carl Stromquist is of Thompson descent, and as a self-taught artist, has been strongly influenced by Northwest Coast Native traditions and culture. Stromquist's sculptures and installations often reflect his profound love and respect for nature. Estimated value: $2,200 |
