An international tour to Canadian and major centres around the world is being planned for the Collection, augmented by about 40 more pieces of Bill Reid�s work.

Tentatively titled Crossing Boundaries: Bill Reid, Artist and Author, the retrospective will contain much of his exquisite gold work, and include pieces in silver, ivory and argillite; along with audio recordings, texts and photographs. It will be small in volume and easy to pack and ship.

Expressions of interest have come from museums in a number of cities. The prime cities being considered include London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, New York, Washington DC, Tokyo, Seattle and Victoria. The Tour will travel for two-to-three years.

The Tour is in response to a demand for a retrospective of Bill Reid�s work. It will be an important educational and cultural exchange for Canada, and it will also provide an opportunity to promote and raise funds for the Facility to house the Collection in Vancouver.
